As we change our lives and our businesses to cope with the Corona Virus, our habits online change too.  Simon Kemp over at Kepios along with Hootsuite and We Are Social produce regular reports on how people are using mobiles, social media, content, connected devices and more.  So of course I was very curious to see what their recent Global Report for April says and how their most recent Hong Kong report which is just pre-virus era January looks.

  • Big jumps in digital activity, especially in countries that have seen the strictest COVID-19 lockdowns

  • Significant increases in social media use, with video calling taking centre stage

  • Accelerating adoption of ecommerce, particularly for grocery shopping

  • An increase in the amount of time spent playing video games and watching esports

  • Already 40% of Hong Kongers listened to Podcasts so Ill be curious to see if that rises in the next report!
