Facebook has a couple new tools for showing off your product, space, experience or instructions. If you aren’t quite ready to create your own VR content yet, this is the next best thing! If you are ready to think about VR, read my recent article.
Live Video
Live broadcasts from Facebook pages, groups and events have been available for a few months and the number of features they are adding are growing. Overall viewership for these are much higher than regular video particularly because there is a special alert status to show that you are live. Some of the new features include:
- Live reactions
- Replay comments
- Live filters (sketch coming soon)
- Invite friends to view while live
- Facebook Live Map for desktop and a live video icon on mobile
- Metrics for live video
360 PHOTOS
Give your followers images that they can explore!
You can now easily share 360 photos on Facebook. Simply take a panorama with your phone or capture a 360-degree photo using a 360 photo app or 360 camera, and then post it on Facebook as you would a normal photo. From there, we’ll convert it to an immersive 360 photo that people can explore, similar to how people experience 360 videos on Facebook.
